ajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi the state academy of Music, Dance and Drama was

established by the then Department of Education. Government of Rajasthan on 16 December 1957. as the state counterpart of the National Academy of music, dance and drama for the purpose of fostering the performing arts, traditional as well as classical. Now the administrative department of the Academy is the Art and Culture Department. Financed by the Government of Rajasthan, it was given an autonomous status by the order of Governor of Rajasthan on 12 January 1959. As an autonomous body it was registered under Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860 at No.149 of 1958-59. The Akademi was formally inaugurated on 19 January 1959 by the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri B.V. Keskar.
