By courtesy of the American Ford Foundation, New Delhi an independent microfilm unit was installed in the Institute in 1985 with a view to microfilm those manuscripts which either are in a deterioting or brittled condition or those illustrated manuscripts which are considered to be the best specimen representing the different schools of miniature paintings. It also aimed to microfilm, with the help of portable unit, scattered manuscripts in the state as also some important manuscripts from the other Govt. or private repositories Digitalization work is continued in Head Quarter Jodhpur from July 2008.
